Johanan said: Fire [involves liability] on account of the human agency that brings it about.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Lit., 'his fire is due to his arrows'. Damage done by Fire equals thus damage done by Man himself. ');">⁴</span> Resh Lakish, however, maintained that Fire is chattel.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Lit., 'his property'.
